Operating principle of metal detector gate
- Metal detectors also rely on electromagnetic induction with the transceiver coil like other metal detectors. However, they have more complex technologies, specifically as follows:
- Metal detector gates often use pulse induction technology (Pulse Induction – PI). The PI system sends short, strong pulses of current through the coil. Each pulse creates a short magnetic field. When a piece of metal passes through a magnetic field, a reflected magnetic field is created. This magnetic field then reacts with the receiver coil, thereby activating the alarm system.
